Final

I believe a trip to Europe would be a life changing experience. I don't know if I could get on the plane though. I call these pieces..........."It's not Boeing to happen"

These are vector images. I would love to print them huge.....

projection been trying to post it since yesterday blogger video upload sucks.

youtube's upload took all night...................................the video embed was also too large; here's the link:

This was intended, originally, to be projected onto a board I had painted. I think It would be better projected on a long rectangular wall. After getting it on youtube,I realized that the stare after my eyes raise should be much longer.

Projection Pieces Post One

Projecting Piece

Here, I imitate a certain scene from Star Wars. I did not add voices because when I record my voice, I sound like a dork. Here are the captions:

Scene one:
"Luke, I am your father. Bleeeeeeaaaaaaa.....!"

Scene 2:
Mindless chatter

"I'm sorry, what know?"

Scene 3:
Same as Scene 1

Scene 4:
Insert crazy scream.

Star Wars is copyrighted by George Lucas.

Final Project

For my final project, I chose to do a screen tone project to help me get practice in comic book art. These are two of my characters and I might post the other two later, but for now...

Poster Idea

I had a blast doing this. It wanted to stay very simple, so I found little ways to have fun with it.

The back layer was created in photoshop. I wanted to use colors that complemented the piece, but still showed variation.

I really enjoy the softness of photoshop coupled with the crisp edges of illustrator. I'm torn equally between doing the simple painting that you see there in the background and working with text in illustrator.

I've altered all the text in some way or other. There are no capital letters, which I think is a little humorous and kind of apart from what's normal.

Wake Up- animation by Curtis

It is difficult to get the camera the way you want it. I had intentions on getting some texture on my image with photoshop. I also wanted to put feet in the first scene and possibly some hands flailing around in view, on the way down. I figured I would go ahead and get this posted, never the less..........

Storyboards

Consider the point of view. Could there a more interesting composition or dynamic created rather than just straight on? I used Veronicas as an example but I want all of you to consider this in your work.

Storyboard Art

So I decided to put my storyboard sketches on one strip for easy viewing. I choose a simplified art style for a smooth look and easier working in the flash. This will be my first flash, I'm excited to learn about flash! :3

Cinema project

3D Landscape

3D LANDSCAPE #1 BY CURTIS

Eyebugs

Landscape Sample

This is my sample.

This project was a little odd for me. I found it very difficult to switch from creating elements myself, to using photographs. The whole process lacked the normal cohesiveness that I've become accustomed to. There were separations in the method of creating these: One part was photography, one part was splicing photos together.

My brain goes into a different mode when I'm taking pictures. I don't see them as pieces, I see them as pictures, and that's all.

I think if I did this more often, my eye for photographic content would change. I would select images differently; I would think of images differently. While I feel that the ability to think of images and shapes the way this project requires is a valuable skill, I am currently not very comfortable with it.
