Final Project Proposal

I have been wanting to do a piece inspired by Nathaniel Hawthorne's "Rappaccini's Daughter." I want to incorporate the look of art nouveau style and stained glass. I envision it printed large-maybe around 4'x2'. I plan to explore these styles and aspects in separate pieces before the final piece. I just finished an art nouveau style poster. I want to experiment in a couple different programs for the stained glass. I was originally going to do it completely in Illustrator, but I want to try actually having lights behind it in Cinema. The "Rappaccini's Daughter" piece is not something I want to rush. I am going to make a series of art nouveau/stained glass pieces to work up to it.

Final Project Proposal

I'm wanting to work on my skills in comics, since I want to create comics in my profession in the future. Working on them helps me practice my style, word placements, characters, and coloring. I want to use Photoshop and paint tool Sai to create this comic. It will be a comic for laughs. I'm wanting to make fun of my friends obsession of Zelda. The comic will be full color and 4-5 panels long, vertically.

Final Project Idea

My final project will be a series of photographs edited by me in photoshop, or create a comic using illustrator.....

finale project

my final project will be a series of art prints using my photography and drawings altered with photoshop here are some rough ideas to give you a sense of the direction I am going for

Final project idea

a collage of different videos i will make using after effects

Final Idea:

My final project for computer art will be that I am going to try and create a 3d image using photoshop and after effects. It will be a mermaid sitting on a rock with wings and the moon surrounded by clouds.  The clouds will be moving in a circular motion both away and toward the moon. The waves will be (hopfully) doing the same back and fourth patteren. I would also like her to be breathing if I can manage it.

Much Thanks to Trilla!

Hell On Wheels
by Bryan Wilkerson
with thoughts
by Trilla Webster
Starring: Meredith Fuller

“One way or another, you’ll pay”
Ways to Die, Handicap Style:
- Crushed/split in half by elevator
-Meredith rolls slowly towards the girl, backing her up into a corner. There was no escape…..
-Meredith rolls towards the girl, knife in hand….she creeps forward…. no one knows for sure how it happened…all they knew was that it was a long way down…..(basically she falls off a building)
-Meredith chased the girl into the street, the girl was looked over her shoulder….and was hit by a bus…..Meredith calmly says, ”Well that happened.”
-Girl is chased through a cemetery and Meredith keeps showing up mysteriously fast…chainsaw in hand.
-Girl is pushed through a glass elevator. (Probably not possible with our budge/time, but this is one of my favorite lol. Girl gets in elevator, and Meredith follows her in…Girl is surprised…and scared. Screen changes to scene of people in a mall walking with the bottom of the glass elevator in the background. Glass breaks and screams are heard. Scene flashes to the girl laying on the ground….dead….Screen flash to Meredith rolling away calmly from the elevator.)
-Girl is swimming, no one is around. You can hear the squeaky sound of a wheelchair. She doesn’t notice the sounds and continues swimming. Meredith is holding a power drill….she rolls herself to the edge of the pool, waits for the girl to resurface, and drops the drill in the water….The results are…shocking.
-You see a girl running through the woods a terrified look on her face…screen flashes to the wheels of a wheelchair rolling through the woods unusually fast, leaves crushing. Screen flash to girl again. She comes to the  edge of a cliff sliding to stop herself…She crawls backwards and runs into….a wheelchair…..She backs herself up to the edge. Meredith creeps closer….
- Girl is chased through the hallways of a school….is looking behind her….SMACK….hits self on locker(or door)
- A mob chases Meredith…the circle her. They think they have her outnumbered, but they are sadly mistaken. One possibility: Shows from overhead, blades in her hand. They come at her, and with one spin….they all fall.
- Girl is sitting in her ceramics class, focused on her work. The sound of the wheel spinning drowns out the sound of a wheelchair slowly approaching. You see Meredith reach for a long wire used to cut the clay……whuhahhaaa
Here are some handicapped thoughts on the movie and such:
- Even though she’s murdering people you kind of feel sorry for her. Her dreams have been ruined, and she’s been tricked more than once. And revenge, is driving her mad.
-Possibility: Picked on more than once. Her friends through her in the water even though she couldn’t swim.
-Possible movie dialogue/ trailer: “ Her friends have played tricks on her before….(scene flash to her being pushed in water,or other scene)….but this time, it’s gone too far. (scene flash to the train scene)….With her dreams of being a cheerleader ruined, Meredith Fuller turns to revenge. (scene flashes to multiple death scens)…but will revenge be enough to quench her soul?(scene flash to her saying something serious or something)….or will it ultimately….consume her?(scene flash to Hell On Wheels logo, narrator says “Hell On Wheels”…..(Scene flash to final scene)(this one’s my favorite lol). Meredith is crawling up the stairs, the girl runs into her room. She shuts and locks the door and backs up into her closet. Meredith is in there….you see her eyes open and glow….END FRIKKIN SCENE ^_^
-Cop scene: “What do you see down there Joe?”….Joe:.”Looks like….tread marks…this can’t be right…”……”What is it Joe?”……Joe: “It looks like….like tread marks, from….a wheelchair”…….

Some helpful tutorials

As you are editing and finalizing your movie trailers you may want to revisit VIDEO CO-PILOT for some instruction and tutorials on various special effects created in AE. You should also think about use of type and type motion within your piece. STRIVE FOR EXCELLENCE AND MAKE THESE LOOK PROFESSIONAL/HOLLYWOOD! In addition to working on your H.O.W. movie trailer please have your final project proposal posted on the blog BEFORE class begins.

Homework for Halloween!

Create a movie poster for HELL on WHEELS!
finalize all pages for Book project and have them press ready!

This font might be helpful

follow these steps found on U INFORMATIKA

1. Download a layout or template – First, you must acquire a good template. A template will make printing easier since you will have a nice and ideal foundation to work upon. Not only will the template help you set the dimensions of a proper poster, it will also make the process easier since you will not have to build your design up from scratch. Look for poster printing templates online through printing websites and design blogs. find one here or somewhere else

2. Add your primary Image – Once you have a template ready, just load it up and then add your primary image. This can be a full color photograph of your main subject, or it can be your custom drawn symbol or graphic, which you want to display. It is good to center this onto the poster template, making sure that the scaling of the image is right. Make sure that the image is quite high in terms of its resolution. A 300-600dpi image should be quite ideal for poster printing.

3. Create your Title – Next, you can then create your title. All movie posters display the big title prominently right? You can place your title at the very top, or at the very bottom of the layout. If you do not have cool fonts in your computer, you should try downloading a couple of free and good ones over the Internet. Just play with your fonts and choose then download the best one that you think describes your title. Add shadow and glow effects if you can to make the text title come out quite good.

4. Type in the smaller details – Once the title is done, then you need to add the other smaller text details. This can be the description of the poster and of course the meat of the important message that you can to want to distribute. This can be the prices of your products, or the pertinent details of your cause. It can be a list of show times, or it can just be a string of slogans and quotes that you like to impart.
Make sure that the text can easily be read. Try to choose a font that is far simpler to understand. Also, try to regulate the size and color of the text so that they do not overpower the image and the title. It is good to just use black or white ink with this depending on the color of your background.

5. Add a border – Also, do not forget to add a border or even just subtle framing techniques. Borders provide people with some order in poster design, making things nice and neat within the image. Either you can place borders via the special features in most desktop publishing applications, or you can also download a few custom borders and border fonts that should do the trick quite well.

6. Add in extra details – Of course, with every important thing on the layout, do not forget to just add a few extra details to make your movie poster design quite complete. Adding color gradients, or a full color background should be good. Textures, scratches and small “noise” effects can also add to its completeness. Just use the effects in your software or any downloadable content to achieve this.

7. Polish your design elements – Finally, you should polish everything in your design. Proofread the text, check your color combinations, and see if there are errors, smudges and odd cuts to your poster design. Edit things when necessary and improve them if you get new ideas. Once there is nothing else to correct you should be done with the poster design
